Singer Solange Knowles (28) and her 51-year-old video director boyfriend Alan Ferguson wed this weekend in New Orleans. “Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love,” said Solange via email earlier today. “Everything was a labor of love.” The dress was by Humberto Leon for Kenzo, but we could not help but draw comparisons to another famous bride whose dress and personal (signature) style is remarkably similar.

Knowles’ dress is very similar to Hollywood film designer Vera West’s bridal gown created for Elsa Lancaster in the 1935 film Bride Of Frankenstein. Notice designer Leon’s Art Deco horror movie references captured in his flowing caped creation complete with wrapped arms (Knowles arms are wrapped in gold and Lancaster in surgical gaze).

Even their coiffures created styles that are hair-raisingly similar.

The official wedding portraits were taken by photographer Rog Walker.  The commissioned portraits included a stunning all-female family tableau’ including big sister Beyoncé and mother Tina Knowles. The work was inspired by contemporary Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft.

Not to be outdone- shortly after the Knowles portraits surfaced Chris Jenner posted her own all-white all-female family portrait. This goes to show you that fashion rules have greatly relaxed. Now even media whores can wear white after Labor Day.
