Whitney Houston’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner before the 1991 Super Bowl XXV in Tampa ranks among the most memorable of all-time. Houston’s talent and worldwide popularity due to the release of the film The Bodyguard buoyed the nation patriotism just after the onset of the Persian Gulf War.
