11/3/20 O&A NYC INSPIRATIONAL TUESDAY: Martin Luther King, Jr. Urges People To Vote (KTLA News 1964)

Black and white footage of Martin Luther King, Jr. delivering a speech in front of The Boys Market in Los Angeles. This was one of many stops King made in Los Angeles as he traveled around the country encouraging people to vote in the upcoming election.

Although King makes it clear he will not be voting for Goldwater, he does not endorse a particular candidate, but rather tells the audience to go to the polls and “vote their convictions.” Shots include a woman singing, King speaking, and footage of the primarily African American crowd in attendance.
