TLC was a girl group whose repertoire spanned R&B, hip hop, soul, funk and new jack swing. TLC originally comprised singer Tionne T-Boz Watkins, rapper Lisa Left Eye Lopes and singer Rozonda Chilli Thomas. The group was very successful in the 1990s and early 2000s in spite of numerous spats with the law, each other, and the group’s record label and management.

Waterfalls was written by band member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes with Marqueze Etheridge and Organized Noize for TLC’s second album CrazySexyCool (1994), featuring production by the latter. The song was released as the third single from the album on May 29, 1995 in the United States, followed by a United Kingdom release on August 5, 1995.

No Scrubs was the first single on the album FanMail. Released on January 23, 1999 No Scrubs is one of TLC’s signature songs and was the second biggest Hot 100 single of 1999. The futuristic music video, directed by Hype Williams, was shot on March 18, 1999, and also received massive airplay on MTV, and won the group the 1999 MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Video.

Red Light Special is the second single released by TLC from the album CrazySexyCool. The song reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video was directed by Matthew Rolston and is set in a brothel. The male actors in the video are portrayed as prostitutes and Left-Eye is dressed as a pimp while Chilli & T-Boz portray customers who part take in a game of strip poker. A young Boris Kodjoe is featured as one of the male prostitutes.
