Bernard Jeffrey “Bernie” McCullough better known by his stage name Bernie Mac, was a stand-up comedian, actor and voice artist. After briefly hosting the HBO show Midnight Mac, Mac appeared in several films in smaller roles. His most noted film role was as Frank Catton in the remake Ocean’s Eleven and the titular character of Mr. 3000.
This is one of the first appearances of Bernie Mac on Def Comedy Jam. Obviously his standup is a far cry away from The Bernie Mac Show that the rest of the world knew him for but you can still see his great comedic timing, originality and sharp wit in this rare footage.
