3/15/20 O&A NYC LIFESTYLE: Open House TV- George Faison’s West Harlem Firehouse Theater

Nestled on a small street just one block off Harlem internationally renowned 125 at 6 Hancock Place is the Faison Firehouse Theater. The nearly 32-foot-wide former firehouse built in the Beaux-Arts style in 1909 was converted into a performing arts center and the stunning home of  Tony and Emmy Award winning choreographer and director George Faison.

The former Hook and Ladder Company 40 has been the home of the Faison Firehouse Theater since 1999 (with a celebrated “official” inaugural opening in 2007 that included a presentation by Maya Angelou). This truly personalized design by Faison- a New York original includes his private residence filled with memories of George’s long and rich career in theater.
