In addition Taylor will launch the inaugural season of a  new dance initiative entitled Paul Taylor’s American Modern Dance. Taylor will present important works by past dance legends and emerging artists during his New York City season. The initiative is Taylor’s way of celebrating the past, enhancing the present and securing the future of modern dance.  Paul Taylor’s American Modern Dance will ensure that this homegrown American art form always has a home at Lincoln Center.

For the 2015 New York City season Taylor will present works he admires by modern choreographers Doris Humphrey and Shen Wei. Humphrey’s rarely-seen Passacaglia, danced by Limón Dance Company accompanied by organist Kent Tritle.  Shen Wei Dance Arts will dance Wei’s riveting Rite of Spring.

Gifted Soprano Devon Guthrie will perform in Taylor’s Beloved Renegade; the work is set to Gloria by Francis Poulenc.
