Converse is making big news in the Big Apple with the reopening of their new flagship store in SoHo. This new renovated Converse store will serve as the largest Converse store in the world and will include over 10,000 square feet of selling space. There will be two floors full of Converse products highlighted by the Converse Blank Canvas customization experience that allows consumers to customize footwear, apparel and accessories.

Converse-3-565x372Some of the customization options include screen print on clothing as well as messing around with certain parts of a shoe like adding grommets, switching laces, adjusting colors, adding patches, and other things to create their own 1-of-1 sneaker.

New York Giant Wide Receiver Victor Cruz’s signature sneaker gets a Black Cement treatment inspired by the Air Jordan 3. In the past, Cruz has mentioned the Air Jordan 3 as one of his favorite sneaker, which explains the similar colorway on the next release.

Although Safari dresses these up nicely instead of cement print, you can still see the obvious nod on the uppers. Tumbled leathers and smooth collars finish these off nicely, alongside the Nike Air tongue.

Two major adult breakfast perks are drinking champagne and eating ice cream (or in this case, sorbet). Champagne cocktails are a celebration of our adult independence, not to mention a gateway aphrodisiac to the “Morning Mambo”.   Enjoy it immediately with a few sips and a spoon, or let the sorbet melt into the champagne, creating an ice-cold, sweet drink. This cocktail gets more fruity as it melts. This float is reminiscent of a Bellini, made just slightly tart with the addition of lemon sorbet.

Ingredients 
1 pint lemon sorbet
1 pint raspberry sorbet
1 (750-milliliter) bottle champagne, chilled

Preparation
1. Put a small scoop of the lemon sorbet into each of 8 glasses. Top with a small scoop of the raspberry sorbet. Slowly fill the glasses with the champagne. Serve immediately. Serves 8

Maurice White, Earth, Wind and Fire vocalist and co-founder died in his sleep in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening. He was 74. The singer had battled Parkinson’s disease since 1992. Because of the disease, he had not toured with the pioneering soul and R&B group since 1994. He nevertheless remained active on the business side of the group.  His health had reportedly deteriorated in recent months.  Continue reading

Céline Dion along with thousands of family, friends and fans said their final goodbyes to husband of 21 years, René Angélil on Friday, January 22. The singer and Angélil’s three sons (René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy) walked alongside their widowed mother into the Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica. GUESS Founder and Chief Creative Officer Paul Marciano related the following, “Growing up he wore and loved our jeans with the triangle logo on the back pocket and this line is tapping into his incredible artistic vision to create a modern heritage-driven line. It is a denim-heavy collection with quintessential 90’s influences seen in oversized denim jackets, overalls and logo-centric styles.Thus, we get offerings in light blue acid washes, tencel fabrics and pinstripes, alongside GUESS logo crop tanks and varsity jackets. Perhaps the most obvious graphic reference is the reworked “GUESS Jeans USA” logotype, now altered to read “GUE$$” throughout both women’s and menswear collections.

The men’s collection includes oversized denim trucker jackets, large pocket details and back pocket patch detailing, tailored denim overalls, relaxed shoulder drop neck varsity stripe tees and relaxed drop shoulder mock neck tees and hoodies.
