Ailey II Artistic Director Emerita Sylvia Waters has shaped the lives and careers of countless young artists. During her 38 year tenure the Alvin Ailey Repertory  Ensemble grew into a world respected Ailey II- a dance company, choreographic laboratory and “dancing boot camp”. In 2012, shortly before her departure, we had an opportunity to talk with her about her career as a dancer, teacher and director.

In the spring of 2014 The Edwynn Houk Gallery,745 Fifth Avenue, presented an exhibition of rare, vintage photographs by celebrated American photographer Herb Ritts. The exhibition focused exclusively on the five models in his iconic work, Stephanie, Cindy, Christy, Tatjana, Naomi, Hollywood, 1989. When You Believe is a song from the 1998 DreamWorks musical animated feature The Prince of Egypt. It was written and composed by Stephen Schwartz. 11/17/15 O&A NYC With WaleStylez- Fashion: fragment design and Stussy Release 35th Anniversary Collection

Hiroshi Fujiwara sent street wear enthusiasts into a frenzy when he posted a first look at the fragment design and Stussy collaboration on his Instagram a little over a week ago. Now the two brands have unveiled the full collection, which is arguably the most hyped of Stussy’s 35th anniversary releases.

There is no gallery selected or the gallery was deleted.

Highlighted by a trio of MA-1 MOD jackets, matching Boonie hats emblazoned with the iconic “Double S,” and thunderbolt logo comprise the military-inspired portion of the collaborative release, while a number of co-branded zip-up hoodies, pullover hoodies, crewnecks and tees are offered up in monochromatic color schemes. As was seen in Mr. Fujiwara’s Instagram post, understated oxford shirts with contrasting branding along the lower portion and a tee featuring Stussy’s iconic “Tom Tom” print finish off the collection.
