Michael Jordan debuted the Olympic VII during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Jordan lead the Dream Team to taking home gold medals, but the sneaker fans know and love wasn’t intended to look the way it does. Legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield had several alternate designs before settling on the that one MJ wore and subsequently released.
Still incorporating red, white, and blue, the Air Jordan VII Tinker Alternate Olympic is much more patriotic than the released pair. The mostly white sneaker features blue on the side panels, a red midsole, and U.S. Flag on the heel. The number 9, Jordan’s jersey number during the 1992 Olympics remains the same.
While there is no scheduled release date for the Air Jordan VII Tinker Alternate Olympic, but the inside word is the release date will be August 16, 2016 to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (August 5 – 21) the price $190. O&A NYC will keep you updated.
