Rick Owens most recent mainline collection was an anxiety-driven masquerade of clothing that pooled and draped over the runway models. A plethora of pockets, huge hemlines, and a mix of skinny elongated and cropped jackets executed in shearling, and thick textures. The inspiration from the collection came from Owens’ inner turmoil with the negative changes to the environment.

The Derek Redmond Story culminated on Monday night, August 3, at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. At the track and field stadium, the gun sounded for the 400-meter semifinals. About 100 meters into the race, Britain’s Derek Redmond crumpled to the track with a torn right hamstring. Medical attendants rushed out to assist him, but as they approached Redmond, he waved them all aside, struggled to his feet, and crawled and hopped in a desperate effort to finish the race. Black Violin, the classically trained duo violist and violinist duo of Wilner Baptiste (Wil B.) and Kevin Sylvester (Kev Marcus), opened the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College 2016- 2017 season with classic style. Accompanied by DJ SPS on turntables and Nathaniel Strokes on drums Black Violins performed a varied program to a packed diverse audience. Billed as Black Violin: The Unity Tour Wil B. and Kev Marcus have taken their classical background combined with their love of hip-hop and created a truly signature multi genre sound they refer to as “classical boom”. This Is What You Came For by Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris, features Barbadian singer Rihanna. Released on April 29, 2016 through Sony Music and Westbury Road the song has strong house music influences. Harris co-wrote the song with Taylor Swift, but was the sole producer.
