Karl Lagerfeld returns to the director’s chair with his 18-minute short film Once Upon A Time. The film is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Chanel boutique in Deauville Normandy, which Lagerfeld allegedly went to great lengths to reproduce. Keira Knightley stars as the late Coco Chanel.
Not only is Knightley the face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance campaign, she is joined in the film by models Stella Tennant and Brad Kroenig, his son Hudson, and emerging actress Tallula Harlech. Tallulah is the daughter of Lagerfeld’s longtime collaborator Lady Amanda Harlech while the 4-year-old Hudson is Lagerfeld’s godson. The film first screened at Chanel’s Singapore cruise collection show in May.
