Premiering in 1974 on CBS, Good Times has been one of the most renowned Black sitcoms in American history as it chronicled aspects of the Black experience and tackled social issues of the time.The show followed the story of Florida and James Evans raising their children in a housing project in Chicago.The show is returning, but in a different form. Netflix has released the debut trailer for the animated reboot of Good Times.
Leading the show are the voices of J.B. Smoove, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jay Pharoah, Slink Johnson, Marsai Martin and Wanda Sykes.Additionally, the reboot is showrun by Ranada Shepard with executive producers Stephen Curry, Norman Lear and Seth MacFarlane. Netflix’s ‘Good Times’ is set to premiere on April 12.
