BattleFest celebrates the extreme street dancers and dance styles derived from hip hop and the Jamaican street dance craze known as Bruk Up. Over the years the battles (a contest between two or more dancers) has evolved from the street dance bravura of Brooklyn’s inner city youth to thematic composition recognized worldwide. Adilyn Malcolm mastered dubstep dancing by just using YouTube as her teacher. The 12 year old used the internet to stop, rewind, and watch videos of the best dubstep music dancers in the world like Marquese Scott , something she admits a traditional dance class wouldn’t allow her to do. The results are incredible.
