New York Giants Wide Receiver Victor Cruz is out but far from down. O&A NYC Co-Founder Adewale Adekanbi (aka WaleStylez) caught up with the “on the mend” Cruz at FootAction on 34th Street. Cruz was there to promote the upcoming release of his debut sneaker the Nike Air Cruz.

No surprise but another colorway of the upcoming Nike Air Cruz has surfaced and we assume it is a second nod to the New York Giants. Big Blue gets the tonal treatment; this pair in all-blue suede and woven leather, the latter different from the raised “pyramids” seen on the previously leaked colorways. This version also lacks visible Swoosh branding on its lateral side. Although there is no official release date for Victor Cruz’s first signature model yet, we anticipate the shoe will release in early February. The debut sneaker will be priced at $150.

12/24/15 O&A NYC What The- The New Exhibit of Art and Shoe Design by Ronnie Fieg

Ronnie Fieg’s extensive body of work is undoubtedly highlighted by his collaborations with Asics and the GEL-Lyte III silhouette. Although the shoes have been around for twenty-five years, the retro renaissance put these split-tongued classics into the limelight with much of the load carried by the NewYork native.

Ronnie Fieg has distinguished himself from the pack of shoe designers with his ever-evolving color-blocking. In an extremely exclusive exhibit (a guest list of just 50 people) entitled What The at Miami’s Joshua Liner Gallery Fieg displayed unreleased shoes alongside thirteen of his past GEL-Lyte III designs and a curated selection of hand-picked artwork. Fieg also plans to launch an accompanying book titled Homage.

Athletic Shoe aficionados (aka Sneakerheads) are wondering when or if the What The Fiegs will even release. Given the language of their press release, we anticipate it may come sooner than later. O&A NYC gives you an inside look at the What The exhibit.

By Adewale Adekanbi Jr

yeezy-boost-release-cancelled

Here’s a terrible way to start the new month – no Yeezy Boosts! Rumors of a December 5th release have been swirling around over the last month, with notable retailers even suggesting that a Yeezy Boost 750 would drop. But two important updates have gone down recently – one being today’s confirmation from adidas that no Yeezy Boost sneaker will release this week, and Ibn Jasper going the extra step and saying the all-black Yeezy Boost 750 is a big ‘ol fake.

Yeezy Talk WorldWide notes that retailers are now confirming a December 19th release, but we’ll wait for more details as we near that date. We went from all-black Yeezy Boost 750s releasing on December 5th, to no adidas Yeezy Boosts at all. Bummer, huh? We’ll bring you the latest Yeezy Boost updates as they arrive, so in the meantime let us know if this alters your weekend’s sneaker purchase plans.

By Adewale Adekanbi Jr.

Jordan Brand’s 30th anniversary stole the show this year! 2015 saw the Jumpman aka Michael Jordan collaborate with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design and  skateshop Supreme. Even beyond outside influences, the Jordan Brand continuously churned out colorways and models that would thrive off of the hardwood.

The Air Jordan1‘s three decade celebration was highlighted not by OG colorways this year, but instead by an attention to luxury like never before. The Pinnacle 1s saw a premium price point of $400 (and no, that wasn’t the resale value). Now the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG is getting toned down for a simplistic black and white color known as the Air Jordan 1 “Cyber Monday”. The entire upper is encased in a black remastered leather while a white on white midsole/outsole combination adds a clean finish. Available this Monday, November 30th for $160.
