11/17/15 O&A NYC With WaleStylez- Fashion: fragment design and Stussy Release 35th Anniversary Collection

Hiroshi Fujiwara sent street wear enthusiasts into a frenzy when he posted a first look at the fragment design and Stussy collaboration on his Instagram a little over a week ago. Now the two brands have unveiled the full collection, which is arguably the most hyped of Stussy’s 35th anniversary releases.

There is no gallery selected or the gallery was deleted.

Highlighted by a trio of MA-1 MOD jackets, matching Boonie hats emblazoned with the iconic “Double S,” and thunderbolt logo comprise the military-inspired portion of the collaborative release, while a number of co-branded zip-up hoodies, pullover hoodies, crewnecks and tees are offered up in monochromatic color schemes. As was seen in Mr. Fujiwara’s Instagram post, understated oxford shirts with contrasting branding along the lower portion and a tee featuring Stussy’s iconic “Tom Tom” print finish off the collection.

When it come to Air Jordan sneaker Spike Lee’s gotta have it. Now Spike can sits court side at the next Knick’s home game game wearing his own Jordan model the “Oscar Edition”. Recently he showed off a pair of gold Air Jordan 6 with a translucent tongue and outsole on his Instagram, stating that these were a gift directly from the brand in celebration of his honorary Oscar. For Nike Friday the 13th is good luck due to the release of the new Lebron 13. Dubbed the “Friday The 13th” edition, the Nike LeBron 13 come in a white, black and university red color way; and feature a white-based upper with black and red accents along with a blood spatter-like design on the midsole. This is a limited release, so follow the lines of sneaker diehards (sneaker heads) to a select Nike stores near you.

The North Face just released an exclusive collection for Barneys, taking its mountaineering gear expertise and applying it to garments for the urban explorer. The North Face-wearing Barneys man roams the city and styles his down parkas with the likes of Comme des Garcons, Craig Green, Margiela and ACNE.

Rodarte Fall Winter 2015/2016 inspiration according to designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy was birds. Migrating birds, to be specific. Birds migrating from city to country, to be more so. But he most obvious influence this season was all about disco! Yes disco! There were multicolor sequin stripes; one-shoulder dresses; a crystal mesh material that read as a kind of magic lamé; and that Bob Mackie-style, heavy-duty figurative bead embroidery that’s done a long-term penance in the thrift shop bins. (Now it’s back, apparently.)

Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing left a letter on the seats that expressed his thought process for this collection. “One of the most fascinating things about designing is the – for lack of a better word – “therapeutic value” of what we create. Clothing changes self-perceptions – after all, isn’t that the whole point of this industry?” The collection stood at a cross-roads of cultural influences and the desert exploration embodied a metaphor for creation. On November 5th  Balmain and H&M will introduce a fashion collection and we’ve got an early look at what fashionistas will be standing in line (or waiting on-line) for tomorrow. For men and women alike, Balmain is known for its sharp-shouldered jackets and military detailing; and under the leadership of the brand’s 29-year-old creative director Olivier Rousteing, it’s only gotten better.
