The BOONDOCKS is an adult animated sitcom on Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block, Adult Swim. The series premiered on November 6, 2005. Created by Aaron McGruder, BOONDOCKS is based on McGruder’s comic strip, which is distributed in over 350 newspapers nationwide. Created by comedy producer Hal Roach, the series is noted for showing children behaving in a relatively natural way, as Roach and original director Robert F. Eric Marlon Bishop known professionally as Jamie Foxx, is an African-American actor, singer-songwriter, stand-up comedian and musician. Ugly Wanda, played by Foxx, was based on a character LaWanda Page played in a sketch on Redd Foxx (1977). The first sketch to feature Wanda, in which she gives an erotic massage to a man who hasn’t seen her face, is a remake of the original Redd Foxx sketch. The character was named after Page. Before films such as Tower Heist, Meet Dave, Holy Man and Daddy Day Care comedian turned actor Eddie Murphy use to be funny. A native of the Bushwick section of Brooklyn Murphy’s early comedy was characterized by profanity laced punch lines, and sketches lampooning a diverse group of people. At age 19 he became the youngest member of the Saturday Night Live cast. From 1980 through 1984 Eddie helped resurrect the show with characters including Gumby, Buckwheat and Mr. Robinson (a spoof on Fred Rogers).

Murphy released Raw in 1987. It followed the success of Delirious, the 1983 film of his stand-up comedy routine. Filmed in the Felt Forum, Madison Square Garden in New York, the film contained the word fuck 223 times, setting the record for the highest fuck count ever in a feature-length film. Raw surprisingly surpassed the 1983 Scarface with itself profanity and held this record until 1990. Continue reading

In 2008 Robin Williams performed at the Wimbledon Theatre. It was a charity performance in support of Prince Charles’ organization, The Prince’s Trust. Recently Prince Charles became the first British royal to publicly pay tribute Williams, after the late actor’s death. In a statement to Press Association Charles said, “I greatly enjoyed meeting him on several occasions and his irreplaceable contribution to life will be greatly missed by countless people, including myself.” He added: “He was a remarkable man, whose wonderful frenetic humour brought a special kind of laughter into people’s lives.”
