4/22/15 O&A Music: The “Hoff” Is Back- David Hasselhoff – True Survivor

David-Hasselhoff-in-Kun-Fuy-Fury-Music-Video-True-Survivor

True Survivor is the ultimate homage to the decade of excess, featuring David Hasselhoff belting out a power anthem that would be right at home during a training montage in Rocky, The Karate Kid, or just about any buddy cop movie from the ’80s. Kung Fury is an insane-looking martial arts/comedy movie that’s been generating a fairly large amount of Internet buzz thanks to its plotline involving a renegade cop going back in time to kill Hitler, the Kung Fuhrer Continue reading

Madonna appears to have survived a global nuclear disaster in the music video for Ghosttown. There appear to be no other signs of life. At first, things are a little scary as the two adults go on the defense: She is ready to beat him with a golf club as he points a rifle to her head. After a few tense moments, things calm down. Madonna and the actor who plays Lucious Lyon on Fox’s Empire do a sexy dance. Continue reading

3/21/15 O&A With Walestylez: Kendrick Lamar i and preview The Blacker The Berry

Pete-Rock-Talks-About-Kendrick-Lamars-New-Album-

Kendrick Lamar surprised the world by dropping a new single from his still-secretive follow-up to good kid, m.A.A.d city, the Isley Brothers–sampling i. The “I love myself!” chorus and the funky vibe propelled the track into the culture and got everyone equally parts excited and curious about Kendrick’s new album.

In Kendrick’s new song The Blacker the Berry, the sound and content of the still-untitled new album gets a whole new side. Everything from the verses to the vibe to the hook is pushing K.Dot’s artistry to a new limit. Even the cover art is distinctive, featuring (NSFW warning? Maybe?) two brown babies breastfeeding from their gold-bracelet-wearing mother.

Childish Gambino’s video for Sober, one of the best tracks from his great STN MTN/Kauai mixtape, is equally bizarre. In it, an inebriated Childish Gambino dances like a fool in a take-out restaurant while relentlessly trying to hit on a woman waiting for her food. Continue reading
